Gordon Meggison will be displaying his work at Hemming Plaza Jewelers during this month’s Artwalk on October 1, 2014. Gordon Meggison lives in Jacksonville, Florida, and was educated at Jacksonville University. In 1992, his French Light /Florida Light art show was hosted by the Sisters Cities Association of Jacksonville and Nantes, France featuring “pleine aire” watercolors. He has painted murals across the USA for General Mills , sculpted wall art for interior designers and homes , installing large canvas murals around the world. He now paints full time and teaches watercolor and oils. He tries to capture the pure subtle colors of nature and North Florida landscapes and the energy embodied by driftwood and marshes of the Talbot Island and surrounding area.

Artists Statement
My work is a meditation on the universal questions about change and movement of energy vibrating within objects and the color sensations associated with those vibrations. My technical process is a form of personal calligraphy unearthing my poetic process. My work integrates aspects of action painting, color field theory, and the representational. Fluid acrylics, textural media, oils and watercolors are my tools to explore these relationships.
